Tibet Rongphu Monastery

Brief introduction of the Rongphu Monastery:
Located at about 8 KM away the Everest,Rongphu is the hightest monstery in Tibet, which was established in 1902 by a Nyingmapa Lama. There were once 500 monks and nuns living here,but now, there are only 50. At Rongphu Monastery, the nuns and monks live harmoniously and use the same prayer hall but having separate residences. It is said that the monastery and its large chorten is the best situation to take a great photograph of the Everest which thrusting its head skyward in the background. The elevation of Rongphu is 4980m.

Tips:
   1. It will take you 2 hours to walk or 15 minute to drive to the Base Camp of the Everest.
   2. The best time for taking photographs is at dawn and dusk.
   3. Short of accomodation and high price of consumption.
