Lhasa tourism market resumes

The occupancy for star-rated hotels has reached 30% since the beginning of June in Lhasa, capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region, sources from Lhasa Tourism Bureau. This shows that tourism in Lhasa has begun to resume though influenced by the March 14 Riots.

During the past 5 months, achieving the total tourism income of 14 million yuan, Lhasa has welcomed 199,802 tourists, of whom 85,975 people visited Lhasa in May.

According to officials from Lhasa Tourism Bureau, nowadays the city is ready for receiving more tourists in aspects such as eating, living, shopping, traveling and amusement. Attractions including the Potala Palace and the Norbu Lingka have opened to the public.
