The Ngari Gunsa Airport in the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) is expected to complete construction in 2010.
With an altitude of 4,227 meters, the 4D flight zone will meet the requirement of airplanes with plateau performances. The newly built airport runway is 4,500 meters long and 45 meters wide. The terminal building covers 3,500 square meters and the terminal area can accomodate 12,000 passengers.
The Ngari Gunsa Airport will be another airport in TAR besides Lhasa Gonggar Airport, Bamda Airport in Chamdo and Nyingchi Airport.
